Membership & Communications Area

The Membership & Communications Area provides members opportunities to develop skills in a range of areas including reception, membership administration and outreach, and communications. Our receptionists help with everything from transferring phone calls to greeting guests and providing information—all excellent experience to build communication skills and self-confidence!

Reception:

  • Answering phones
  • Checking and recording voicemail messages
  • Distributing parking passes
  • Greeting visitors and helping members to sign in and out
  • Managing office inventory
  • Organizing mail
  • Typing and data entry
  • Photocopying

Membership Administration & Outreach:

  • Assisting with prospective member tours and new member orientations
  • Making outreach calls and visits and updating the outreach log
  • Preparing birthday card and newsletter mail-outs
  • Entering attendance statistics in member database
  • Researching free and accessible weekend activities for the Weekend Activities Board
  • Organizing the Community Board and brochure stand
  • Participating in Members Meetings and Decision-Making Meetings
  • Creating meeting agendas

Communications:

  • Updating, printing, and folding promotional materials such as brochures, newsletters, and calendars
  • Assisting in the creation of social media and blog posts on Facebook, Instagram, and WordPress
  • Assisting in the creation, printing, and distribution of our quarterly newsletter
